Building Regional Talent Strategies for Rural Communities
Background
Following the success of urban-based talent-building coalitions such as Dallas County Promise, a partnership of educational leaders united to develop a working model for replicating this success in rural communities. In partnership with Economic Mobility Systems (EMS) and Rural Community College Alliance, NVision is working with three community colleges in rural north and east Texas — Tyler Junior College, North Central Texas College (NCTC), and Grayson College – to develop new and powerful strategies and tools for rural talent ecosystems.
Approach
With funding from a 3-year grant provided by Greater Texas Foundation, NVision is providing external marketing and stakeholder communications strategies and support to the three participating rural community colleges and their affiliated program partners across north and east Texas. Year 1 of the program saw the development and launch of two programs: Red River Promise, led by NCTC, and Texoma Promise, led by Grayson College. For these programs, NVision developed and produced a range of core launch materials including branding assets, presentation and material templates, one-pager program overviews for students and parents, stand-alone program websites, and launch videos.
