Background
Following the launch of College Promise programs in Dallas and across the state, program partners wanted to develop a comprehensive resource that could more directly connect students with affiliated academic programs that lead to living wage careers in high demand.
Approach
NVision developed CollegeWorks initially to support the needs of Dallas County Promise partner institutions, each of whom had unique goals, and the needs of students looking for resources that not only provide them with college and career options but also help them more easily and successfully chart their individual college-to-career journeys. Since that time, the cohesive, multi-faceted program has been expanded to include partners in several regional Promise programs in rural Texas communities, offering more students information on high-demand careers that provide living wage salaries in their region, and connecting them with educational partners that offer affordable degrees and training for these careers.
